Interested in becoming a Trustee? - Birmingham, 08/11/12

Date: 8th November 2012
Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Venue: BVSC, 138 Digbeth, Birmingham, B5 6DR

Do you like the idea of volunteering as a trustee but aren't sure how to get started or what the role involves?

Join us for an informal session to explore and help understand the roles and responsibilities of a charitable trustee.

Key speakers:
  • Tracey O'Brien, Direction of Policy and Programmes at BVSC
  • Karl George MBE, Founder of The Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners
This session will provide an overview of how you can make a contribution to improving lives and communities; consider your legal commitments as a trustee, and discuss what it means to be a charitable trustee. Voluntary organisations based in and around Birmingham need effective governance and this requires volunteers with a range of experiences and skills to become trustees.

The Volunteer Centre managed by BVSC has trustee opportunities available and can provide advice and guidance in identifying a suitable vacancy within a voluntary organisation in Birmingham.

Light refreshments provided.

Places are limited so if you would like to attend please respond to businessinVOLvement@bvsc.org by Monday 5th November.

For further information please call 0121 678 8838.
